How to Raise Money for Your Business: Part 1

How do you raise money for your startup? Make a plan and make it plain!

I receive a lot of questions on how I raised $500,000 in about a year. Let me tell you, it was a process! It took a lot of planning, executing, time, follow up and relationship-building to get there.

Over the next several weeks, I am going to do a video series on how to raise money for your startup.

And guess what? These strategies will help you raise money from both investors and customers. That's right! Customers are investors too. Not all businesses need to raise outside capital. Revenue can be one of the best ways to raise money for many businesses.

This week, we are going to start with creating the right goals. This video will hit on three points:

1) Create Revenue-Generating Goals - set 3 main goals that are needed to help you make money (Example: Validate revenue model by October. Identify and hire right team to meet goals)

2) Identify Specific Activities needed to reach goals - Example: Complete and launch new feature/design by June

3) Identify Specific Resources needed for Activities - Example: Web developer, Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).

In this video series, I'll be sharing proven strategies I used to raise $500,000 and other entrepreneurs I've coached have used to raise and make money for their business.
